Support for scientific research
L'Institut français du Canada works closely with the scientific and academic departments of the French Embassy in Canada.
These departments support research cooperation with Canada by proposing or co-piloting mobility programs for young researchers (doctoral students, post-doctoral fellows) and established researchers. The aim is to strengthen bilateral research collaboration (setting up joint projects, sharing expertise, data, equipment, and resources) and to assist with institutional structuring, in support of French national research organizations and higher education institutions.
MOUROU STRICKLAND
Mobility program for Canadian researchers who wish to explore research opportunities in France and French researchers who wish to discover the Canadian scientific environment.
FFCR :
Funding for research projects led by teams that are made up of researchers from France and Canada.
FFCR+
New funding program to support France-Canada teams awarded a past FCRF grant and that wish to continue their collaboration on ambitious research projects.
HIGH-LEVEL SCIENTIFIC FELLOWSHIP
Research grant available to Canadian doctoral or post-doctoral students for a 2-month stay in France to advance a research project in collaboration with a French team. This program allows fellows to gain experience in a research laboratory at a French university.
MAKE OUR PLANET GREAT AGAIN (MOPGA)
As a major player in the fight against climate change and a guarantor of the spirit of the Paris Agreement, France is launching a new MOPGA research stay scholarship program for young researchers. This program aims to strengthen scientific contributions to the climate change issues raised by the Conferences of the parties (COP).
VISITING SCHOLARS PROGRAMMES AT CANADIAN UNIVERSITIES
These programmes support long research stays (for a period of 2 to 6 months) at the University of British Columbia (Vancouver campus) and the University of Calgary.
