Culturethèque

Culturethèque, is the Institut français’ digital media library. Culturethèque offers major French newspapers, comic books, novels, literature on subjects of interest (such as climate change or World War I), self-study modules, articles on the humanities, concert recordings, web documentaries, and more. 

Culturethèque has a space dedicated to learning French: the classroom, where students and teachers alike have access to reading material adapted to their level of French, bilingual books, DELF preparation exercises, and a selection of educational reference material.

IFcinéma

IFcinéma, the Institut français’ digital platform for French and French-language films, offers a catalog of French films and a catalog of African films from the Cinémathèque Afrique for the organization of non-commercial public screenings. The films, including feature films, short films, documentaries, and animated films, are suitable for all audiences, including youth, and can be downloaded and used in classrooms and elsewhere for free screenings.

A number of films are accompanied by educational resources for use in French classes. IFcinema also offers resources for film studies.

ARTE Éducation

ARTE Éducation provides students and teachers from primary school to higher education with a catalog of over 1,000 programs in French, among the best offered by the European television channel, categorized by theme, school level, and French language level, with some accompanied by teaching materials.

RFI

Le Français facile avec RFI offers a range of resources for learning and teaching French through radio and international news. It also includes a map allowing users to navigate through the French-speaking world and its specific features, as well as exercises to prepare for the TCF, TEF, and DELF B2 oral exams.

TV5 Monde, a global network of 10 French-language television channels, offers numerous free resources for discovering, learning (over 3,500 exercises), teaching (over 1,000 educational worksheets), and playing with the French language.

Lumni

Lumni, is a service provided by public audiovisual broadcasters (Arte, France Médias Monde, France Télévisions, INA, Radio France, and TV5Monde) to support education for students and teachers. This unique, ad-free service curated by experts is offered free of charge and provides access to culture, knowledge, and learning for all children aged 3 to 20 and covers all school subjects from kindergarten to high school.

Training resources

BELC

BELC courses are internationally recognized training courses for all French language professionals worldwide: French and French immersion teachers, educational coordinators, school principals, and exam centre managers. Recognized internationally, they are held in summer and winter in France, and throughout the year around the world in the form of regional BELC courses. These training courses are organized by France Education International, an institution that’s part of the French Ministry of National Education and that also offers other training courses for teachers and other professionals in education.
