Step 1: Find a program of study
The Campus France catalogue is a tool that makes it easy to find programs of study at French institutions of higher education. You can search using different criteria: field of study, location, level of education, and more.

If you don’t find the program you wish to apply to in the catalogue, don’t hesitate to go directly to the website of the institution that offers the program.
Step 2: Apply
Canadian students have access to the Études en France platform, a unique online service for all the registration procedures related to French higher education for foreign students. You’ll find all the information you need to prepare your application at the links below:
You’ve been accepted to an exchange program or have a received a letter of acceptance to a degree program in France. What now?
Get your visa
- Register on the Études en France platform: After getting your letter of acceptance, you have to register with Études en France. You must register before applying for a visa. And it’s easy: create an account under the “Students already accepted” section and follow the instructions
- Apply for your visa online: If you need a visa*, you’ll need to follow the procedure for applying for one on the France Visas website.
*All non-European-Union nationals living in Canada who wish to spend more than 90 days studying in France must apply for a long-stay visa (“visa long séjour”). - Make an appointment with 1 of the 4 VFS centres in Canada.
You want to do a summer school program
Summer school programs for licence, master’s, doctoral and even post-doctoral students are offered from June to August every year. Their duration varies from 1 to 8 weeks.
Summer school programs are an opportunity to expand your network, get ahead in your field of study and develop professional and social skills. They’re also a great way to discover France and French culture!
French+Sciences: developed by Campus France in partnership with the Centres de français langue étrangère (“Centres for French as a Foreign Language”), French+Sciences is a short-stay program that allows students to improve their French and learn about cutting-edge technological sectors.
