15th DELF/DALF Conference
On 28 and 29 May, Ottawa hosted the 15th edition of the DELF-DALF Canada Meetings, organised by the central administration.
Centre managers, university representatives, Alliances Françaises, trainers, institutional partners, representatives from ministries of education, central administration and France Éducation internationale came together to exchange ideas, share their experiences and reflect collectively on the next steps in the development of DELF Canada.
Round-table discussions, collaborative workshops, expert presentations, feedback sessions and opportunities for discussion punctuated these particularly fruitful days.
In a country as vast as Canada, these meetings hold a special place. They not only enable the sharing of best practices and the enhancement of the programme’s quality, but also bring to life what constitutes the main strength of DELF Canada: its network.
This collective strength is now reflected in the results achieved.
In four years, the number of DELF Canada candidates has almost doubled. In 2025, the year of DELF Canada’s 20th anniversary, the symbolic milestone of 20,000 candidates was reached. The country is now the leading non-European country for DELF and DALF examinations and ranks among the programme’s most dynamic networks worldwide.
These results are the fruit of a collective effort led by passionate teams who contribute every day to the development of the French language and the success of candidates.
On the sidelines of the event, a reception hosted by the French Embassy provided an opportunity to continue discussions in a particularly warm and welcoming setting.
A huge thank you to all the speakers who contributed to the success of this year’s event!
