France-Acadie Assomption Vie Grant

Applications for the France-Acadie Assomption Vie Grant are now open for the 2026–2027 academic year, until 15 April 2026.

The Société Nationale de l’Acadie, the French Embassy in Canada, the Consulate General of France in the Atlantic Provinces and Assomption Vie are inviting applications for the 2026 France-Acadia Scholarships, intended for students of Canadian nationality who wish to undertake a semester or a year of university study in France during the first semester of the 2026–2027 academic year.

The French Government’s student scholarships are jointly managed by France and the Société Nationale de l’Acadie and, as of this year, are supported by Assomption Vie. They were established following a meeting between four Acadians and President Charles de Gaulle in Paris in January 1968. Today, they are one of the key expressions of the close cultural ties and special bond between France and Acadia.

This is a scholarship for a one-semester or one-year study period in France, starting in the autumn semester (September). This may be a stay as part of a university exchange programme, or to pursue a French higher education qualification.

Applications from students staying in France for a full academic year will be given priority.
