2023 France Alumini Day in Canada

France organized the week of May 15, 2023, the "France Alumni Day", a week dedicated to alumni from around the world. This worldwide event will be an opportunity to gather all the people who have studied in France, around meetings and events.

The Embassy of France in Canada brought together alumni from Canada for meetings and events across the country. The calendar of events is as follows:

In Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver and Moncton, over 350 people gathered to share a moment of conviviality. These receptions were an opportunity to revitalize the France Alumni network in Canada and structure it by appointing “honorary representatives”.

Calendar of Alumni Day events

In each event, representatives talked about their formative years in France and how it has influenced their careers.

  • In Ottawa : Elisabeth Richard, Sciences Po Paris alumna;
  • In Toronto: Tiffany Wong, alumna of Sciences Po Paris and Sanjay Zimmerman, alumnus of INSEAD (Institut Européen d’Administration des Affaires)
  • In Vancouver : Eden Solarik, currently in her final year of the SciencesPo - UBC double degree program;

In partnership with Air Canada, a quiz was organized in Moncton, Ottawa, Vancouver and Toronto, which gave the opportunity to win a round trip ticket to Toulouse in each of the events organized in these cities.

In addition, the Regional Tourism Committee of Occitania awarded 17 Occitania Rail Passes: to the 4 winners of the quiz as well as to the 13 students who were about to leave for France in September 2023. The latter partcipated , as part of the Alumni Day celebration, in thematic visits to meet French personalities working in different professional sectors: research in Ottawa, video games in Vancouver, start-ups in Toronto and relations with Acadia in Moncton.
